Research

Research Interests:

Androniki Triantafylli received her Ph.D with Distinction from Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece in 2009. Prior to joining Queen Mary Business School she was a lecturer in management accounting at Manchester Business School  and a post-doctoral lecturer at ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Androniki received her undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from Athens University of Economics and Business. Then she worked for PriceWaterHouseCoopers as auditor and she joined the Ministry of Health as a consultant responsible for the reform of the Management Accounting Planning of the National Health System (project financed by the European Union). Then she continued her studies in Accounting and Finance by obtaining her M.Sc from London School of Economics, U.K in 2005 and immediately she pursued studies leading to a doctoral degree. In her doctoral thesis, Androniki developed a model of the use of Management Control Systems according to the Strategy in the context of Shipping Companies by using mixed methods research approaches.

Androniki' s current research interests are concentrated to the use of Management Control Systems as practices with application of a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches especially in the services sector. Areas of particular interest include performance measurement and management, processes of management accounting change and the changing nature of management accounting practices and their impact within business organizations. Her research interests also include the application of mixed methods approaches, both qualitative and quantitative in management accounting research.
