Institutional profile

The Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Complutense University) is located in the capital of Spain. It is one of the oldest universities in the world, as well as the largest (83,000 students, among them 3, 500 foreign students, more than 5,000 staff teachers and about 2,700 non academic staff - administration and services) and the most prestigious in Spain. Seventy-seven official degrees are offered at the university as well as some 230 further qualifications and almost 200 doctorate programmes.

Language of instruction

Spanish 

Students must demonstrate adequate knowledge of the Spanish language to at least B1 Level in the Common European Framework (CEF) or equivalent

Language course

A two-week pre-sessional intensive Spanish language course is available at the start of the academic year (students must indicate their intention to attend the language course when using the online system to apply for exchange)
